Judical Commission NSW Benchbooks: Benchbooks are practical information published to assist a judge or magistrate. Bench Books are essentially working aids provided for judicial officers, specially tailored to the needs of each jurisdiction.

Attorney-General’s Department: The AG Department provides essential expert support to the Government in the maintenance and improvement of Australia’s system of law and justice and its national security and emergency management systems. This site contains information and links to the areas of law that comes under the Department’s scope, which includes criminal and family law.

Legal Aid NSW: this site provides information on the range of services available to people who need advice, assistance and representation, and who qualify for legal aid. It also provides other useful information on various areas of law dealt with by Legal Aid.

Criminal Law

Children’s CourtChildren and Young Persons charged with a criminal offence are dealt with in the Children’s Court of that relevant state. This site has information on the applicable law and practice of the Children’s Court of NSW.

Public Defender’s ‘Defender Bank’useful legal research material produced by Public Defenders (barristers who appear in serious criminal matters for clients who have a grant of legal aid).

Criminal Law Review Division: a part of the Department of Justice and Attorney General NSW, this division provides advice to the State AG about all aspects of criminal law.

Commonwealth Court Portal: The CCP is an initiative of the Family Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and Federal Magistrates Court of Australia. It provides web-based services for clients to access information about cases before the courts.
